Broadcasting icon Tim Lovejoy has reflected on the time One Direction stars called him a ‘legend’ on the latest episode of the Soccer A-Z podcast.
Lovejoy had met the boy band when they appeared as guests on the ITV show This Morning as their fame continued to grow.
Highlighting the success of the iconic Soccer AM, Lovejoy revealed the band had instead begged him to have a selfie.
‘They saw me and all ran up and went “can I have a selfie, can I have a selfie, Soccer AM legend, legend, legend”,’ Lovejoy said.

‘It’s really funny that memory comes back, now they would probably just ignore me in the street.’
Each weekly episode of the podcast will be led by the alphabet and will include a variety of football-inspired challenges as dictated by the letter of the week, with a quiz incorporated into each adventure. It’s C for Celebrations this week.
