Clarence Seedorf reveals the ‘missing link’ for Arsenal despite victory over PSG… as he admits Mikel Arteta’s side have had a ‘fear of winning’

Clarence Seedorf has claimed there is just ‘one thing’ preventing Arsenal from finding success under Mikel Arteta.

On Tuesday night, the Gunners strolled to victory against PSG in the Champions League as goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka wrapped up a 2-0 win in north London.

It was a convincing display from the Gunners, who remain unbeaten in all competitions as they look to put an end to their search for a Premier League or Champions League title.

And, during Amazon Prime’s coverage of the match, Seedorf revealed the one aspect that he thinks he can help change Arsenal into a winning side.

The former AC Milan star said: ‘What is that missing link to take that next step? Belief is one thing, but saying it is one thing and doing it is another.

Arsenal secured a dominant 2-0 victory over PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday night

Afterwards, Clarence Seedorf offered his opinion on the Gunners and their ‘belief’

‘I believe, in the second-half, they went back too much, too early. Those are the type of things you cannot permit in the Champions League.

‘Today PSG were not at their best but against another team you can suffer and they might score goals against you and the whole plan changes. But I believe they are a contender.

‘I believe that Arsenal want it. Of course they have it in their belly, but two years it was right there and didn’t happen.

‘So there has to be something that they need to tweak to get over that fear of winning. But I think they have the right coach. I’m sure they’ve learnt from the past’.

Seedorf wasn’t the only one who weighed in on Arsenal’s performance on the night, as co-pundit Frank Lampard also offered his thoughts on their display.

Unlike Seedorf, Lampard offered high praise to the north London side and admitted that the French side were ‘taught a lesson’ by the Gunners.

‘It’s difficult for them, they have been taught a bit of a lesson by an Arsenal team that have been better physically, more aggressive on and off the ball and faster than them in their game. It’s been hard.’ He said on Amazon Prime.

The result sees Arsenal rise up to eighth in the new format Champions League table

Frank Lampard claimed that PSG were ‘taught a lesson’ by Arsenal in their clash on Tuesday

‘They haven’t even got a foothold in the game because Arsenal on and off the ball have been so strong.’

The Gunners were held to a goalless draw in their Champions League opener against Atalanta last month, while PSG claimed a 1-0 win at home against Girona.

Arsenal’s next Champions League outing comes against Ukrainian side Shaktar Donetsk

PSG arrived in north London without one of their star men, Ousmane Dembele, who was left out of the matchday squad after falling out with Enrique after their 3-1 win over Rennes on Friday.
