Harry Kane insists England’s attacking talent is the envy of the world game as they prepare for this month’s clashes with Finland and Greece.

With Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham set to return to the squad, Cole Palmer in stunning form for Chelsea and Bukayo Saka a key man for Arsenal, interim boss Lee Carsley will be spoilt for choice.

Kane is the nation’s record goalscorer and will be confident of adding to his tally with so many creative players around him.

The England skipper said: ‘We have a lot of great competition for places in that area, especially from a striker’s point of view, and that is great to see. That is what you want. The manager has got a headache, that’s for sure.

‘We have some great talent in the country. Everyone is playing at a really high level, in big games, in big moments, and it will be interesting to see who will be there next week. From an England point of view it is great to see everyone doing well.’

Kane was criticised in Germany for his displays for Bayern Munich in their recent clashes with Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa. He did not score in either match as Bayern drew with the German champions and suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Villa in the Champions League.

Kane added: ‘They are a good side. There is still a long way to go in this competition to really see how it pans out. It is important not to panic.’
