Man United defender Jonny Evans has admitted that the mounting pressure on Erik ten Hag is something that is having an impact on the players.

Ten Hag’s position is under renewed scrutiny following the humbling home defeat to Tottenham and Thursday’s Europa League draw in Porto.

Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe sidestepped a question about Ten Hag’s position ahead of the trip to Villa Park, where he watched on as the visitors earned a point in a low-quality contest.

Jonny Evans has admitted that the mounting pressure on Erik ten Hag is affecting the players

Evans put in a man-of-the-match display at Villa Park to help his side leave with a point from a difficult place to play.

Speaking after the game, he said: ‘It does affect the players (the pressure on Ten Hag). It’s on our minds too.

‘I think the more experience I’ve got in my career I’ve made sure I do everything you I to be ready and give everything I can to the team.’
