Paul Pogba is set to make his comeback in a first match since having his ban reduced as he joins other modern day and yesteryear legends in a cup clash.

Mail Sport exclusively revealed that the French midfielder has had his initial four year drugs ban slashed to just 18 months  by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Pogba was facing a likely retirement had the ban been upheld after he tested positive in August 2023 for DHEA which boosts testosterone and is on WADA’s banned list.

However, the decision to reduce his ban means Pogba can now resume training with Juventus in January and will be able to play his first competitive fixture as of March 2025.

But, Pogba is set to return before that in an exhibition contest in Dubai where he will compete in the Kings Cup.

The legends football match, set for November 30 at Al Maktoum Stadium, is returning for its third edition and will see former World Cup and Champions League winners take to the stage.

Pogba is amongst the most high-profile currently playing superstars to be named in the line-up and will be joined by a host of other world class stars.

John Terry, Roberto Carlos, Michael Owen, Paul Scholes and David Silva are also amongst those that will take to the turf in the one-of-a-kind exhibition contest.

The match will be played with Pogba given a special shirt that will see him subjected to other rules that means he can only play 30 minutes of the friendly clash.

Pogba and Brazil icon Carlos will only play 15 minutes of each half and will be exempt from yellow cards, red cards and can’t be flagged offside.

The former Manchester United midfielder is eager to get back to playing after last taking to the pitch in September last year prior to being banned.

However, it is yet to be seen whether his contract at Juventus will be terminated as the club weigh up whether to bring the Frenchman back into the fold.
