Noni Madueke has been passed fit for England duty after his injury scare in Sunday’s ill-disciplined Premier League draw with Nottingham Forest.
The winger was checked over after he had to be carried off by two members of Chelsea’s staff, having picked up a foot problem during a mass melee towards the end of the game.
Yet in a boost to Lee Carsley, the 22-year-old is available to face Greece or Finland in the forthcoming Nations League fixtures.
Madueke’s form for Chelsea this season earned him a place with England. He won his first cap in September when used as a second-half substitute against Finland, setting up Harry Kane’s second goal in that 2-0 win.
Madueke was previously a regular under Carsley for the Under 21s.

Madueke scored the equaliser for Chelsea against Forest and celebrated by running towards his head coach Enzo Maresca. That came after Maresca had told Madueke he had ‘stopped scoring’ since his hat-trick at Wolves back in August.
Harry Kane has also been passed fit for England duty despite limping off injured for Bayern Munich against Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.
However, Kobbie Mainoo, Ezri Konsa, and Morgan Gibbs-White have all pulled out of the squad, with Lee Carsley deciding not to replace them.
Mainoo managed 85 minutes against Aston Villa on Sunday, but a week earlier was withdrawn against Tottenham before half-time, seemingly with a hamstring issue.
The midfielders withdrawal is believed to be precautionary, while Konsa’s is due to a hamstring problem sustained early in the game against United.
