Jurgen Klopp has taken to social media to address his followers after news broke that the German will take up the role of ‘Global Head of Soccer’ for ‘Red Bull’.
On Wednesday morning, it was confirmed that the former Liverpool manager had signed a long-term deal to take on the role – which he will begin on January 1.
This role will require Klopp to be responsible for the international network of all football clubs at Red Bull – including Leipzig, Salzburg and the New York Red Bulls.
He’ll be required to advise the clubs on coaching matters, playing philosophy, development and transfers of players and head coaches.
Now, the former Liverpool boss has taken to social media to address fans directly and provide them with some information over his shock move.

Taking to Instagram, Klopp said: ‘Hi. Some of you might have heard already, some of you won’t. From 1 January 2025 I will be Head of Global Soccer of Red Bull and I’m really looking forward to that.
‘A few months ago I said I don’t see myself on the sideline anymore, and that’s still the case, but I still love football and I still love working and Red Bull gives me the perfect platform for that.
‘I want to share my experience that I collected over the years and we all know there are much more successful managers out there. But in my career I fought for promotion, I fought against relegation, I fought for titles and I fought for trophies, sometimes we failed and sometimes we succeeded.
‘And dealing with that is not easy, but it’s possible. Then I want to learn again because when you’re in the job and you have to play every three days you barely have time for that.

‘And now I have time and I have the opportunity, and I want to see and feel and figure out what is useful for football. So developing football a little bit as well. Really looking forward to it, but now I go back on holiday. See you in January’.
Furthermore, Klopp has negotiated an exit clause that would allow him to take the German national team job – should he be approached.
It’s been widely reported in recent months that the European giants have earmarked Klopp as a potential successor to current boss Julian Nagelsmann – whose contract runs until the end of the 2026 World Cup.
Oliver Mintzlaff – the current CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments at Red Bull – is responsible for Klopp’s arrival, having pushed for the German to be brought in for months.
Klopp also spoke about his decision to join Red Bull to their website, where he admitted he ‘could not be more excited’ about the venture.

Speaking to the Red Bull website, he said: ‘After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this.
‘The role may have changed but my passion for football and the people who make the game what it is has not. By joining Red Bull at a global level, I want to develop, improve and support the incredible football talent that we have at our disposal.
‘There are many ways that we can do this front using the elite knowledge and experience that Red Bull possesses to learning from other sports and other industries.
‘Together we can discover what is possible. I see my role primarily as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs but ultimately, I am one part of an organisation that is unique, innovative and forward looking. As I said, this could not excite me more.’
