Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer set a Premier Leauge record with his dazzling display against Brighton.

The England international has made a fantastic start to the season with the Blues and his first-half performance against Brighton solidified that.

Chelsea actually found themselves a goal behind after Georginio Rutter gave the Seagulls the lead inside 10 minutes.

But that is when the Cole Palmer show start, drawing his side level on the 21 minute mark.

That marked the start of a 10 minute hat trick for Palmer and he would have his fourth before the first half concluded.

His four goals capped off a dazzling first-half display for the Chelsea man

In fact, it made the former Manchester City man the first player to score four goals before half-time in a Premier League fixture.

Palmer converted a penalty to make it 2-1 to Chelsea before a stunning free-kick wrapped up his hat trick.

His finish at the near post after Chelsea pounced on a poor attempt to play out the back sealed his record making moment.

His stunning free-kick to complete his hat-trick was the pick of the bunch

Palmer’s fourth came at the perfect time as Brighton had just hauled themselves back into the game after Carlos Baleba scored following Robert Sanchez mistake.

It may have come as a shock to some watching on but Palmer had actually predicted that he would score four before the season started.

During the Premier League’s media day, he was asked to count to three on his fingers to signal his hat trick.

He then asked videographers if he could put up four just in case he scored as many.

That is the sort of confidence that has made the 22 year-old such a force since his move to Stamford Bridge.

But surely not even he in his wildest dreams could have imagined he would have scored four before the half-time whistle had even blown.
