Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards hilariously failed to interview Jhon Duran in Spanish after the Aston Villa striker’s heroics against Bayern Munich.
Unai Emery’s side secured a historic victory over the German side as Jhon Duran came off the bench to score the only goal of the game.
The Colombian raced through and looped the ball over the oncoming Manuel Neuer before wheeling away in celebration in front of the home fans.
After the match, Duran was interviewed by the CBS Sports pundits and, after Thierry Henry had successfully done so, they attempted to interview him in Spanish.
Carragher began by attempting to tell Duran: ‘You are my favourite striker in Europe’.Â

Duran came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as Aston Villa beat Bayern Munich
However the Liverpool legend struggled with the word ‘favorito’, to the amusement of both Duran and the rest of his CBS pundits.
Richards then followed shortly after and asked Duran: ‘How much does your hair cut cost?’ Duran laughed in response and said: ‘I don’t know!’
The 20-year-old forward also revealed that he ‘had it in his mind’ the Neuer tends to rush forward and lead to his stunning goal on the night.
Speaking in Spanish to Thierry Henry, Duran was asked when he saw the goalkeeper of his line and the CBS host said: ‘He said I never saw the goalkeeper off his line. I knew where the goal was and I just hit it’.Â
Earlier on in the evening, Emiliano Martinez spoke to TNT Sports and confirmed the information which Duran had mentioned.Â
Speaking on TNT Sports, Villa goalkeeper Martinez said of Duran: ‘He’s been on fire, he came back with a different mentality this season.Â
‘He’s willing to work hard, pushing Ollie all the way. He’s a super sub. First time he touches the ball he lobs Neuer, one of the best goalies in history.Â

Duran now has six goals in the 2024-25 campaign despite playing as a back-up to Ollie Watkins in Unai Emery’s side.
In the Premier League, Duran is yet to start a game but has still managed to score four goals in six games after coming off the bench.
