Alan Shearer has revealed how much he believes Chelsea star Cole Palmer is now worth.

Chelsea paid £42.5million to sign Palmer from Manchester City in September 2023 and he has proceeded to surpass expectations.

Palmer scored 25 goals in his debut season at Chelsea and also broke into the England squad.

So far this campaign, Palmer has scored six times, with four of those goals coming in the first half of the 4-2 win against Brighton last weekend.

Shearer has been hugely impressed with the impact Palmer has made and feels that he would now be worth a considerable amount if Chelsea were to cash in on him.

Shearer has been hugely impressed by the impact that Palmer has made at Chelsea

Shearer told Betfair: ‘We seem to be talking about Cole Palmer quite often these days, which is great for him and for Chelsea because he’s a phenomenal talent and takes everything in his stride. Nothing seems to affect both his ability or his attitude.

‘He uses that arrogance in a brilliant way, the confidence and the belief in himself, but then for him to pull it all off is superb.

‘When he scores the number of goals he has done at Chelsea, and to become the first player ever to score four goals in the first half of a Premier League game, it just shows the heights he could reach.’

Shearer admitted that Chelsea’s acquisition of Palmer can now be viewed as ‘a snip’ and added that he could now fetch a fee of between £130million and £140million.

He said: ‘I thought he was going to join the list of players to score five goals and perhaps he should’ve but he’s an incredible talent. It looks as if Chelsea have got him for a snip as well.

According to Shearer, Palmer could now be worth between £130million and £140million

‘There were eyebrows raised when they paid that amount of money for him but now it looks to be incredible business because if he were to be put on the market now, you can imagine that price tag being north of £130million-£140million.’

If Palmer was to be sold for Shearer’s valuation then it would surpass the British transfer record fee of £106million which Chelsea paid to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January 2023.

After featuring as a substitute under Gareth Southgate at Euro 2024, Palmer is set to play a more prominent role for the Three Lions with Lee Carsley in interim charge.

Palmer has scored twice in nine appearances for England so far, which included finding the net against Spain in the final of Euro 2024.
