Harry Maguire has been filmed hobbling out of Villa Park following Man United’s draw with Aston Villa in the latest injury blow for the club.

United entered Sunday’s clash with Aston Villa in desperate need of a result following a dismal start to the campaign.

Speculation surrounding Erik ten Hag’s future at the club reached fever pitch ahead of the 2pm kick-off, and Gary Neville slammed the Dutchman for straying for his plan to take the club forward after the starting XI was announced.

Ten Hag divisively opted for Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire in the heart of his defence, with the former producing one of his best performances since returning to the club as they kept a clean sheet in a goalless draw.

However, Maguire appeared to suffer an injury to his calf during the first half and was replaced at half-time by summer signing Matthijs De Ligt.

Concerns surrounding the severity of the injury have only been amplified as the England international was seen limping whilst wearing a protective boot as he made his way to the team transport.

Noussair Mazraoui also made way for Victor Lindelof during the interval after seemingly picking up a knock during the first half.

Speaking following the game Ten Hag declined the comment on the severity of the injuries and insisted they will assess further on Monday.

‘We have to assess this,’ he told MUTV. ‘I can’t tell you now what the issue is. I know what the issue is but [I cannot say now] how good or bad it is.

‘We have to see assess this tomorrow and then we will bring you news.’

United currently have a number of players on the treatment table, including Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw.
